1984 LM 30' Pilothouse

San Francisco, California

LAST HAULED AND PAINTED SEPTEMBER 2021

The LM 30 is a double-ended Scandinavian motorsailer, built to a high quality standard.  Although clearly a motorsailer, the LM 30 is actually a surprisingly good sailing vessel.  They were designed from the outset to be easy to handle, with all lines led back to the well protected cock[pit.  This is a fin keeled version, and as is usual with LM's, the condition is remarkably good for her age.

Built in Denmark, by LM Glasfiber from around 1980 to 1990, the LM 30 molds were later moved to England, where production continued as the Scanyachts LM30 this being based on the same hull mold, and is virtually identical.  LM started life as a furniture factory- and this shows in the quality of the cabinet work on their yachts.  In the early 1990's LM ceased production of boats to concentrate on making GRP blades for large wind turbines.

The original owner sailed the boat in the upper Great Lakes waters of Wisconsin and Michigan ( fresh water only ) for 3 to 4 months a year for the first 24 years.  The second owner trucked the yacht to Seattle.  Current Owner purchased the vessel in 2010 from the Lake Union, Seattle,  Washington area and brought it to San Francisco Bay.
